We help organisations evolve
Professional coaching, counsel and facilitation to help leaders and teams navigate their context impactfully.
Before a caterpillar can become a butterfly, it occupies a liminal space in the cocoon. It becomes mush. It’s neither a caterpillar or a butterfly. Modern teams and organisations are no different. Constantly changing and subject to a great many internal and external forces, liminal space is everywhere. We are often in the mush. But unlike the caterpillar, which takes as much time as it needs to evolve, humans often try to rush through the mush, reinforced by societal norms of growth on growth and hyper-efficiency. We can help you honour the mush.
What we do
Individual coaching
As humans, we’re hardwired to evolve. But we’re often our own biggest inhibitors. Mush Consulting works with leaders 1:1 to help them deeply explore their context, challenges, navigate the path ahead and liberate themselves.
Collective development
It’s in our nature to be in community. But the typical corporate context goes against our nature, and causes tensions and challenges we struggle to solve. We are kicking against a system we can’t even see. Mush works with teams to help them reconnect, realign and evolve together – no matter the challenges they’re facing.
Simon Fieldhouse
Leadership | Coach, advisor and guide | Master facilitator and host
Simon Fieldhouse has spent 20 years navigating change in corporate environments.
He’s worked with household-name businesses, community organisations and not-for-profits, and has extensive experience in working through complexity in a variety of contexts.
“Simon is an extraordinary facilitator of difficult work. He has a rare ability to hold groups to accountability and compassion at the same time, creating the conditions for issues to surface that are often uncomfortable, but necessary for transformation and change. This has allowed our system to genuinely let go of old patterns and move forward – with ripple effects across leadership capability, culture, and systems; that have made our organisation more robust and adaptive.”
– Kate Scarafiotti, Hydro Tasmania
Whether working with a national supermarket chain, a telco, an energy company or a purpose-driven nonprofit, my approach adapts to the context and interrupts old patterns to allow new thinking to emerge. A session might involve strategy, scanning your context, communing through Lego play, meditation, nature walks, a conversation around a campfire, music, or none of those things. Whatever route we take, the destination is always the same: emotionally regulated people and teams, broader perceptions, clearer communication and increased individual agency.
“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
